Macworld recap, Best App Ever winner

Last month, several members of the Quickoffice marketing team and I attended Macworld | iWorld (formerly Macworld Expo). It was an exciting event this year, as the conference implemented a shift, not only in its name, but changed focus to more closely resemble the ultimate iOS fan’s fantasy. Of course there was still the presence of Mac-related products, but the overwhelming feeling in the air was all about mobile (and mobile applications).

In fact, we had a blast showing off the latest updates to our iOS apps to fans passing by the Quickoffice booth. Although we answered questions about our iPhone and iPad applications, we primarily showcased Quickoffice Pro HD for the iPad.  As we’ve discussed previously, the sudden explosion in tablet popularity in the last year and the ever-increasing migration to BYOD in many organizations made this a logical choice. Based on the feedback, we’re increasingly optimistic for the future as the general workforce is continuing to adopt tablets at unbelievable rates.  We were flattered by the many users who stopped by our booth to tell us that our app is a critical and necessary tool for anyone who uses an iPad and iPhone at work.

On a completely separate but exciting note, while we were at Macworld | iWorld, we learned that our iOS app was named the Best Mobile Office App in the 2011 Best App Ever Awards! Quickoffice’s iOS app won first place, with our Android app stealing a second place spot. We are very honored to have been selected and to receive this nice industry recognition. Quickoffice is committed to continue updating our apps on a regular basis, as this is one of the keys to customer success.

Tell us your thoughts on the new Macworld conference format and some of your favorite highlights of the show.
