I was very excited to learn that my old alma mater, The University of Georgia, has just named Quickoffice number five on the ‘Bulldog 100’ fastest-growing Bulldog businesses. This distinction, which is sought by hundreds of business owners and UGA alumni, couldn't make me happier, as I have great pride in being a Bulldog.
The Bulldog 100 is a yearly program that recognizes the fastest growing businesses that are owned or operated by UGA Alumni. To provide a bit of background, I received my undergraduate degree in accounting from this university, before moving on to Harvard Business School where I earned my MBA. Since graduation, I’ve always carried a piece of UGA in my heart, as it’s where I got my first look into business and technology from the many great professors and mentors at the university.
Reflecting back, UGA taught me to be tenacious, and as I consider the success we’ve experienced at Quickoffice, I believe being tenacious has been a real key to that success. Startups are never easy and the plans outlined at a company’s inception inevitably and incessantly change along the way. To be successful, a leader must be tenacious to navigate those changes, while overcoming an almost never ending series of obstacles as your company moves from a frail startup to a successful, profitable enterprise.
Congratulations to all the other Bulldog 100 winners this year!
