What's playing on the Kindle Fire?

It's no secret that tablets are becoming widely adopted by technology lovers far and wide. Users are spending more time surfing the Internet, working on homework or business documents and watching videos on these devices than ever before. According to recent data, users spend 30 percent more time watching videos on tablets than desktops. So, out of curiosity, a study was put together to look at what these enthusiastic early adopters were watching on the latest iPad rival, the Kindle Fire.
One of the most interesting results showed that video consumption jumped significantly two days after the Kindle Fire launch. This seems to point to Fire owners using the tablet mainly for watching videos, compared to iPad and other tablet users. The study also found that early Fire adopters were 20 times more likely to watch a video on a technology blog compared to a typical iPad user. Do you think this points to the Fire as becoming a true, viable competitor?
In contrast to video consumption, one act that’s the same on both the iPad and Fire is document viewing. Users of both devices are increasingly using their tablets to create and edit Microsoft Office documents, and we want to ensure we deliver customized solutions for each device. On the Fire, our app actually comes pre-installed and is available for purchase in the Amazon App Store. So, whether you’re watching the latest videos or catching up on a little reading on your new tablet, you can also be productive with Quickoffice by creating, accessing and sharing important documents anytime, anywhere.
While certain tablets may become more popular than others, it is becoming a trend that consumers spend more time on their tablets, as a large number of users increasingly migrate from desktops and laptops.
What do you spend most of your time watching on your Kindle Fire? For what other purposes do you use your Fire? Do you think it’s a true alternative to the iPad? Let us know your thoughts! We’d love to hear from you below or via Facebook / Twitter.

I love my Kindle Fire! Blows away all of the other e-readers on the market! I have a Pandigital e-reader, and haven't touched it since getting my Kindle. Pandigital takes, no lie, almost five minutes to boot up to home screen!!! My Kindle fire is INSTANTLY started!!! Sadly, my Pandigital has a hundred books, that which I paid for, on it. Eventually, I'll need to read those, but have such difficulties with it's long boot up and the fact that it freezes on me constantly, I am not looking forward to going on that device to read those books. Too bad there wasn't a way to switch over my books on the Pandigital, into my Kindle! Of there happens to be a way to do the switch, of which I'm not privy to. I would very much appreciate a response, because I'm basically a new User of all of this modern tech devices, including the PC! Thank You! :)
