Quickoffice awarded Bulldog 100

I was very excited to learn that my old alma mater, The University of Georgia, has just named Quickoffice number five on the ‘Bulldog 100’ fastest-growing Bulldog businesses. This distinction, which is sought by hundreds of business owners and UGA alumni, couldn't make me happier, as I have great pride in being a Bulldog.

The Bulldog 100 is a yearly program that recognizes the fastest growing businesses that are owned or operated by UGA Alumni. To provide a bit of background, I received my...

Over the past few months, Quickoffice attended several key industry conferences: GigaOm Roadmap and GigaOm Net:Work. We met influential technology leaders and learned about the future of connectivity and its impact on consumers. Drew Houston from Dropbox and John Markoff from The New York Times both spoke at the event on the advancements in the cloud, mobile and home markets. Dropbox has already hit 45 million users and it continues to grow, as more consumers become comfortable with storing and accessing their digital content in the cloud. A look back at CloudBeat discussions

Last month, I was honored to join a panel at CloudBeat in San Francisco, alongside other mobile industry executives, Andy McLoughlin from Huddle, Nick Mehta from LiveOffice and Vineet Jain from Egnyte. Hosted by VentureBeat, CloudBeat is a newer industry event that focuses on disruptive technologies across all sectors of the cloud. Their goal is to ‘uncover the solutions that are changing the way businesses serve customers and empower employees’.

Talking enterprise apps at MobileBeat 2011

The MobileBeat conferences never disappoint and this summer’s event in San Francisco was no different.

I had the honor of joining two great mobile minds – Aaron Levie, CEO of Box.net, and Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron – on the panel, 'Enterprise Mobile Apps, Definitely Not Business as Usual.'

My perspective comes from the development of our mobile Office apps, which let users edit and manage files from their tablets or smartphones. Box.net is one of our cloud storage partners. The MobileIron team developed their Virtual Smartphone Platform to give IT professionals...
